Essen, 19 March 2020. Telar has won the Red Dot Award: Best of the Best 2020. Designed for Paola Lenti by Lina Obregón, Telar is a comprehensive collection featured by fascinating hand weaves comprising a chair with and without armrests, a lounge chair, a chaise longue and an ottoman.
Telar has been selected by an International jury of experts both for the high quality of the product and the production and for the original interpretation of the woven material, especially developed by Paola Lenti for this project.
The weaving of Telar combines tension and elasticity, generating a double surface inspired by those of tensile structures; it creates open weaves that replace the traditional padding, giving body to the seating pieces without weighting them down.
Since 2002 Paola Lenti has been carefully collecting different ideas of designers from around the world, smoothly integrating them in a unique, innovative and unconventional project for the outdoors. The award received for Telar confirms, once again, its undisputable leadership in the field of the outdoor design furniture. The award ceremony will take place at the Alvar Aalto Theather in Essen on the 22nd of June.
